Can I use a MCUK if I’ve had a prolapse?

The severity of this condition varies, so if you have a prolapse we would advise you to discuss with your doctor or gynecologist whether a menstrual cup is going to be suitable for you.

Our Advice Team can send you a copy of our usage guide to take to your appointment – just contact us.

What is a prolapse?

A prolapse is when one or more of the pelvic organs (for example the bowel or bladder) has slipped down and put pressure on the wall of the vagina, changing the internal shape of the vagina.

This is due to weaknesses in the pelvic floor muscles which surround and support the vagina and the other organs within the pelvis (you can read more on nhs.co.uk).
